The market splits into the ‘out of home’ channel (also known as foodservice) and the ‘at home’ channel (also known as food retail). We are therefore primarily dependent, directly or indirectly (in the business-to-business market), on the Dutch consumer’s spending behaviour.
We occupy a mid-market position in foodservice, with customers mainly in the hospitality, corporate catering and institutional sectors but also including filling station shops, schools and small and medium-sized enterprises. These customers range in size from one-man businesses in the bar and restaurant segment to large chains in the hospitality sector.
In food retail, EMTÉ Supermarkten targets consumers in the catchment areas of our stores.
