Sligro Food Group has interests in Spar (45%) and several specialist fresh food businesses: Smeding (fruit and vegetables), Ruig (poultry and game), Kaldenberg (meat) and Verhoeven (small bread). These fresh food businesses generated total sales of around €160 million in 2008, with 450 employees (FTEs). The bulk of these sales are channelled via Sligro Food Group.
