Appointment of Paul van Berkel as General Manager of Sligro Fresh Food Production Facilities
Sligro Food Group announced in early August that, in view of its rapid growth (partly due to the acquisition of VEN, Inversco and part of Edah), it had decided to strengthen the management teams to give the Executive Board of Sligro Food Group more time to devote to group matters.
Following the appointment of Walter de Wit as General Manager of Sligro Zelfbedieningsgroothandels, Henk-Jan Peterse as General Manager of Sligro Bezorgservice groothandels and Rob van Herpen as Purchasing Manager of Sligro Food Group Nederland, the Executive Board of Sligro Food Group has appointed Paul van Berkel (42) as General Manager of Sligro Fresh Food Production Facilities, currently comprising Smit Vis, Maison Niels de Veye (patisserie) and the three Koelvers ready meal and meal component companies acquired with Inversco.
After completing his industrial management studies at Enschede, Paul van Berkel gained wide experience in the food sector in various positions within Duif Convenience Food, Beckers Food Group, Medirest Catering B.V., Albert Heijn and Brand Loyalty International. He is married, has two children and lives in Loosdrecht.
Paul van Berkel will start his new job on 1 December 2006.
