Walter de Wit to be appointed General Manager of Sligro Zelfbedieningsgroothandels
In view of Sligro’s rapid growth (due in part to the acquisition of VEN, Inversco and part of Edah), it has been decided to strengthen the management teams of Sligro Zelfbedieningsgroothandels and Sligro Bezorggroothandels, to give the Executive Board more time to devote to group matters.
We are pleased to announce that Walter de Wit (47) is to be appointed General Manager of Sligro Zelfbedieningsgroothandels.
After completing his business economics studies at Tilburg University, he worked in the Netherlands and abroad for a number of companies, including Philips, Aldi (as General Manager of Culemborg) and Ahold (as General Manager Singapore). He has been General Manager of Edah since 2005. He is married, with two children, and lives in Son en Breugel.
Given his current position with Edah (soon to be S&S Winkels B.V.), we are not able at this stage to say exactly when he will take up his new post, but we expect to finalise the date in the course of 2007. He will, however, be starting immediately on initial orientation.
Other appointments to the Sligro Zelfbedieningsgroothandels management team will be made in 2006/2007. We hope to make further announcements concerning the reinforcement of the Sligro Bezorggroothandels management team in the third quarter of 2006.
